Karan Johar is 'enacting' a new role these days. Although Karan's father Yash Johar is a veteran in his field, having produced a string of hits, Karan was more inclined towards direction, letting his father handle the production side of the films. But with Yash and Karan Johar producing KAL HO NAA HO with Nikhil Advani as the director, Karan says he now has ample time on his hands. That's when papa [Yash Johar] suggested that I learn the ropes of production, by overseeing the project. So, here I am, Karan tells me. Incidentally, Karan will start work on his new film only next year. I'm still working on the script, he divulges. Prod him if he's planning to cast newcomers in the film [the buzz is that the project will star fresh faces!], Karan says he's yet to decide on that. Finalising the star cast is secondary. The priority is to complete the script first, he adds. Incidentally, Karan is a die-hard Sooraj Barjatya fan and is eagerly looking forward to the release of Sooraj's new film MAIN PREM KI DIWANI HOON. That's one mammoth film I am looking forward to. I'm more than confident Sooraj-ji has made a damn good film, Karan says.
