IIFA goes for a charitable cause

The International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) which will be held in Singapore this year in the month of May will also go in for a charitable cause. The actors will walk down the ramp and the money generated will go into a trust called ‘ILFS’. This money will then be donated to those families, members of whom were injured or lost their lives during the process of filmmaking. Last year a cricket match was organized for the charity purpose. Amitabh Bachchan who is the brand ambassador of IIFA voted for the fifth IIFA function yesterday at the J.W.Marriot in Mumbai. Other personalities who have already cast their votes include Javed Akhtar, Shaban Azmi, David Dhawan, Pahlaj Nihalani and Sonali Kulkarni. The advisory board includes Ramesh Sippy, J.P.Dutta, Yash Johar, Vinod Khanna, distributor Shyam Shroff and Jaya Bachchan among others.
