2004 will be a year of utmost importance for Yash Raj Films for reasons more than one. Firstly the banner who till now maintained the tradition of making one film an year will go one step ahead producing 4 mainstream Hindi feature films this year and henceforth every year. The movies for 2004 include Hum Tum (by Kunal Kohli), Dhoom (by Sanjay Gadhvi) and Bunty and Bubli (by Shaad Ali). The fourth venture obviously is their most ambitious untitled (as yet) venture starring Shahrukh, Amitabh, Preity, Rani, and Hema Malini for which the master Yash Chopra handles the directorial reigns after a hiatus of 7 years since the global success of 'Dil to Pagal Hai'. Besides this the banner will flag off its first English language production made for mainstream global market. Apart from producing films, Yash Raj Films will also be distributing films like the Aamir Khan starrer The Rising and Tigmanshu Dhulia's Charas. Also the banner will be strengthening its distribution presence across the country by opening new offices in various cities. Their distribution offices in London and New York will continue to look after their International distribution. That's not all! Yash Raj Films' own state-of-the-art, fully integrated Film Studio will begin its operation this year. This one-of-its-kind Studio will house three shooting floors and will be the only complete soundproof and air-conditioned studio in India with the most advanced audio and video recording and post-production facilities. Last but not the least, Yash Raj Films is also entering the Music arena by launching its own music label - Yash Raj Music, beginning with 'Hum Tum', whose cassettes and CDs will be marketed and distributed through its overseas offices. In due course, the music label will be launched in India as a major contender in the music business.
