Never in her wildest dreams must Genelia D'Souza have imagined that being a brand ambassador of a certain Andhra Pradesh based 'Anjaniputra' real estate company would bring her unwanted trouble.
The recent update on this case is that, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has directed her to appear before it personally or through her lawyer for the said case, on Wednesday. Counsel of the petitioner named Chatta Tirupathaiah, happens to be one of the many people who had trusted the said firm, but was allegedly duped by them in return. Not just that, he also allegedly stated that that the directors of Anjaniputra Infrastructure, took the full amount from him for a flat, but had failed to register the same in his favour. He added that police registered an FIR against directors of the real estate firm but left out Genelia. To which, the Court asked her to explain as to why her name should not be included in the FIR, when she appears on April 25. In addition to that, Justice K. C. Bhanu (of the AP high court) had issued a notice to Genelia asking her to explain her version to a petition that charged her with cheating innocent people through the real estate venture.
Further, Tirupataiah also claimed that as a brand ambassador, Genelia lured customers to the company by giving it a clean chit for good management practices. And, that's why she had a role in the deception. He also added that she had even claimed in the promotion that she was one the directors of the company and had bought plots in the venture.
