Farah Khan is all set to reunite with Akshay Kumar and that too twice over. Okay, so before you start wondering whether this development is for a film then hold on to your thoughts. While she is going ahead full pace towards bringing Happy New Year with Shah Rukh Khan on floors, there are other professional commitments where her association with Akshay Kumar would come in handy. This would be for Shirin Farhad Ki Nikal Padi and Joker, promos of which would hit the screen along with Rowdy Rathore.
"It is quite some coincidence since both films feature Farah in some way or the other. While she is the producer of Joker which has been directed by Shirish Kunder, Shirin Farhad.... would mark her debut as a leading lady. Now that both films are approaching the finishing mark, it was felt that Rowdy Rathore would be just the right platform to introduce these films to the audience", informs a source.
What further made it possible is the fact that Rowdy Rathore is a co-production of UTV and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Since UTV is also backing Joker while Shirin Farhad.... is a Bhansali production, it turned out to be a mutually beneficial exercise to attach the film's First Look with Rowdy Rathore.
"After the super-success of Housefull 2, Akshay's stocks have zoomed up in a major way. His Rowdy Rathore is now all set to be huge as well and just like Housefull 2 which is now all set to hit the 100 crore mark, even Rowdy Rathore should comfortably achieve this feat. No wonder, many upcoming films want to associate themselves with the film because if the commitment around attaching the promos is agreed upon, long stay of Rowdy Rathore would help added eyeballs for the promos as well", the source continues.
However, as of now it is Joker and Shirin Farhad... which have turned out to be early birds and already booked their place. This development means that Farah would be enjoying a rare double bill where a film personality would witness the launch of her acting as well as production assignment.
We tried to contact Farah but she was unavailable for comment. Perhaps she wants the secret to stay on for a little longer.
