Producer Sohail Maklai and director Anubhav Sinha are peeved with a section of the Indian media for [mis]reporting that the Canadian shooting schedule of DUS has gone haywire, reason being director Anubhav Sinha hasn't been able to handle the big stars. Maklai called up from Canada to clear the air. The shooting has been progressing at a lightening speed. We were supposed to wrap up the Canadian schedule by August 28, but at the rate things are moving, we should wrap up everything by August 24. What does that indicate? Doesn't it speak about the director's abilities to live up to the commitments? Maklai sounded upset at the baseless talk. The media had reported that the actors of DUS [Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Abhishek Bachchan, Zayed Khan, Esha Deol, Shilpa Shetty and Pakistani actor Jawed Sheikh] have been sitting idle for most of the days. Absolutely untrue, Maklai adds, We have been shooting at breakneck speed. Why should we waste the precious dates of the stars? DUS has a huge cast and if we don't utilize their dates now, procuring combination dates of such busy actors would prove to be a Herculean task in the future. Anubhav Sinha also seemed agitated with the media for writing malicious articles without even caring to verify facts. Says he, We hope to complete 75% of the film by August 24, within three months of its launch. The final 15-day schedule will be completed in Mumbai, as per our plans. The fact that the entire shoot of a biggie will be completed in 59 days is an achievement by itself. By the way, the makers have filmed a song on Mayte [pop sensation Prince's ex wife] as well, besides filming spell-binding action sequences with the help of Hollywood technicians, Maklai divulges. Let's hope this clarification puts an end to the misleading stories in the media.
