The ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela which is one of the largest religious gatherings has had its share of Bollywood glitterati visiting the holy confluence this year. From Shilpa Shetty to Poonam Pandey they have flocked to the confluence for a holy dip. The latest being Ekta Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj's upcoming film Ek Thi Dayaan's cast who decided to visit the holy place on February 10, coinciding with Mauni Amavasya.
However, Divisional Commissioner of Allahabad Devesh Chaturvedi, has requested the film fraternity to refrain from visiting the ongoing Maha Kumbh here for promotion of their upcoming films, suggesting that they schedule private visits, if any, on days other than the main bathing festivals.
The reason behind this is that the authorities do not want any stampede-like situation at the congregation thanks to the fan following certain celebs have. With this in mind they have decided to write to various filmmakers who may be planning to visit the congregation to avoid promoting their film on certain high interest days while arranging for more private visits for the celebs.
