With a one of a kind unprecedented collaboration, A2 Entertainment along with Archie Comics and POW entertainment have joined forces with world famous actor, international icon and public servant Arnold Schwarzenegger to deliver the next 21st century global superhero from Stan Lee Comics aptly named, The Governator.
The Governator packs current topics with action and humor into a worldwide multiplatform entertainment property which includes a television series, 3D movie, comic book series and consumer products program. The revolutionary new property was unveiled at MIPTV in Cannes earlier this month during a press conference with Schwarzenegger in attendance.
Arnold Schwarzenegger to make a comeback with The GovernatorOn starting a new project Arnold said, that since he started looking for a new project, he's wanted it to be new and different and something that he would be passionate about which most importantly captures the imagination of the people worldwide.
The Governator is based on the animated star just days after he retires from his post as the Governor of California. Not content with his retirement, he decides to take on the global villainy and 21st century disasters that no one else is equipped to handle. He is accompanied by an elite team of teens to help him, where he creates a secret identity beneath his home; even his wife and kids are unaware of his secret endeavors. Using cutting edge gear and state-of-the-art weapons, he is set to combat all forms of evil as The Governator. He is also a devout family man who needs to make it home for dinner every night.
A2 Entertainment co-founders and CEOs, Andy and Amy Heyward said that Arnold has had a career filled with remarkable achievements and they are proud to be a part of his return to the entertainment with a property that reflects his extraordinary life and captures his humor and adventurous spirit.
A2 will produce the TV series and the 3D movie along with managing global licensing, merchandising, and distribution. Archie Comics will publish The Governator comic series in print and digital forms. Stan Lee and Gill Champion his producing partner along with POW! Entertainment will supervise all creative direction and story developments.
