There is tremendous speculation about Akshaye Khanna's last-minute exit from Rajkumar Santoshi's KHAKEE. While rumours are rife that Akshaye wasn't too happy with his role, some claim that Akshaye didn't have the required dates to offer. However, the truth is something else. The real reason why Akshaye opted out of the film is because of a difference of opinion between director Rajkumar Santoshi and him. But we parted ways on a cordial note, producer Keshu clarifies, There were no problems whatsoever on that front. So who has been cast in Akshaye's place? Rumours are rife that the makers had approached Hrithik for the said role. That's not true, Keshu adds, Hrithik is a busy actor and for him to shell out dates at such a short notice is next to impossible. We are speaking to someone at the moment. But let me add, the options are open. It could be a rank newcomer or an established actor. Watch this space!
