Akshay Kumar wants Taapsee Pannu to be the next action star

Akshay Kumar wants Taapsee Pannu to be the next action star

His long standing association with the Khiladi franchise and the high octane action in the films are probably one of the biggest reasons to set his image as an action star. Akshay Kumar, who has played every possible action role from a spy to a RAW agent, has now decided to personally supervise the stunts of Taapsee Pannu, who plays the protagonist in Naam Shabana.

For the ones who are wondering about the connection, let us remind you that Naam Shabana is the prequel to the Akshay Kumar starrer Baby and has the superstar doing a cameo. But besides his miniscule role, the actor continues to be a part of the film and has turned out to be one of the biggest motivators for Taapsee, revealed the actress. Talking about the incidents, Taapsee mentioned that there have been instances where the action master was doubtful about her pulling off certain action sequences but Akshay continued to encourage by saying ‘kaise nahi kar payegi’.

Tapsee Pannu couldn’t stop gushing about the support Akshay Kumar has been giving her and how his understanding of the work has helped the process of shooting continue smoothly. Elaborating on how much she has learnt from him by watching him, Taapsee added that the superstar has often spoken to the stunt director at length to find out ways to enhance the scenes.

Also starring Elli Avram and Anupam Kher in prominent roles, Naam Shabana is slated to release on March 31 next year. The film was shot extensively in Malaysia and the team is currently in Mumbai wrapping up yet another schedule.
