Post the release and success of Akshay Kumar's Khiladi 786, the actor has been working on his next Special Chabbis. However, the makers of the film have been keeping a tight watch on it, not letting any gossip of the film slip out. However, the film is officially said to be an edgy gritty heist drama based on the real-life daring heist dated March 19, 1987. The said heist incident was when an unknown man posing as CBI officer Mon Singh recruited 26 men and executed a daylight raid on the Opera House branch of Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri, disappearing with jewellery worth lakhs.
But now sources close to the film tell us that though the film may be based on the heist, Akki's character to some extent has been modeled on the character of Mithilesh Kumar Srivastava, better known as Natwarlal. For the uninitiated, Natwarlal was the famous Indian con man who managed to repeatedly sell the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort along with Rashtrapati Bhavan to numerous buyers. Apparently, so good was his con job, that till the very end no one was able to catch him.
Similarly in Special Chabbis, Akshay like Natwarlal uses a slew of aliases and is a master of disguise who uses novel ideas to dupe people. Directed by Neeraj Pandey of A Wednesday fame Special Chabbis features Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee, Jimmy Shergill, and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles.
