Roy! Well d director is definately a big fan of d famous story of hair nd d tortoise bcoz dis movie is even slower dan dat tortoise ! Slow nd steady cant help u to win d race in bollywood for sure ! Roy d movie starts nd just aftr 10 mins u start wondering wats happening ! It is very confusing ! I dont no wat exactly was on d directors mind while making dis movie ! Talk about d music , yes d music is catchy nd u definately njoy sooraj dooba hain nd tu hai ki nahi during d movie ! D dialogues r just above average ! Arjun rampals acting is very poor ! Jacqueline throughtout d movie looks amazing nd she is d only reason y someone would sit till d end ! Ranbir Kapoor wid dis so called speical role is nt all great if u compare wid his other performances ! I believe d director should've given a brief intro bfor d movie on wat actually is going to happen ! On d whole, as a student i would say #Roy is like dat chapter of d syllabus which u would omit for sure bcoz it needs too much of brains nd concentration ! Until nd unless ur a very big Jacqueline fan plz dont waste ur money on dis one !

Roy , the debut film of Vikramjit Singh is something about the robbery , a little something about his love story, little something about a filmmaker's getting high success of film making, a little something about his love story. Simply the plot of the film is one liner filled with thrilling romances. In Roy Arjun Rampal does the role of a successful filmmaker where as Ranbir Kapoor (Roy) is seen as a smart mysterious thief whom no one seems to be able to get their hands on. Pretty gorgeous Jacqueline Fernandez does double roles interestingly in the film. Roy keeps constant attempt to earn money from the robbery and remains untraceable by the police, while Arjun Rampal(Kabir Grewal) , the film maker seems to be only the one making a profit by making multiple films based on Roy's life, all of which get high success at the box-office. Jacqueline Fernandez, another film maker (Ayesha ) gets mingled with Arjun Rampal who carries an image of a play boy. Roy actually, becomes welcomes of love triangle as these characters are merged together in one romantic love line and suspensable thrill. Roy movie mostly is all about Arjun Rampal and that conveniently makes the story monotonous as Arjun Rampal who essays his character of Kabir Grewal a successful filmmaker, is bored , lacks inspiration to see it t,is stubborn and rude in spite of being successful filmmaker on the verge of making the third part of his super hit franchise. But in that context we should say that Arjun does play this character with much ease and does his job convincingly in the most part of this film. But such view mentioned above reaches in contradiction when he is found to be an unable to portray his feeling and emotions in the several portions of this film. His on screen chemistry with Jacqueline gives pleasures and thrill till the songs are going on but his vehicle of such romance tends to stop when songs tend to be stopped. Most of the cine-lover hearts may not in love with Arjun's character; The female audience does not look at him treating him as the romantic passionate lover. Jacqueline Fernandez this film , is seen playing double roles , one of Ayesha who is a filmmaker and is merged with Arjun in romance and another one is Tia who possesses a huge estate in Malaysia. She is awesome to carry of both roles although she looks more elegant and ease in Ayesha's character. Probably that reason tells why her chemistry with Arjun looks more promising and luminous than that with Ranbir Kapoor. One very consolable good thing that filmmaker does in this film is that he has kept her anglicized accents to that audience keeps their admiration to her giving full marks. Ranbir Kapoor plays the title character of the film Roy but sad is, here, that the movie does not revolve him, his character as if, is half baked. His motive and tendency behind his robbery does not come with an extraordinary thrill but it happens in plain and makes a cause to get bore. Audience does not look at him with their hot impression. Some how he does not look much ease playing this role of thief in the film which does not make concrete a chemistry not only with Jacqueline but also with the whole plot of the film. In the final consideration it is said that in the film the crispy story-line gets short and it contains many loop holes as lull moment in the film.. Ranbir Kapoor passes through a fictitious character and that has been more gripping, which to a certain extent goes favor for the plot but later on it goes topsy turvery to the plot of the film, thus it makes a very confusing experience for the viewers. But it keeps us shake in impression with beautiful cinematography and it deserves thanks from us its choosing beautiful and gorgeous Malaysia . And love track of three characters come to be bearable as singers add their soul to the song taking a vow to lessen its bored and cliche romances.

Roy, Roy is a worth watch film. Story, Screenplay, Cinematography, Direction, acting. I would say everyone did there job nicely. All departments did there job very well. This movie may not be able to do some good business but for sure will get awards. I just came out of the cinema and saw lot of people saying what was the movie about, They didn't really understand the film. Most of the people were confused about the movie. Some of them even left the theater. People now a days are more into masala movies and they don't really understand such movie like Roy.

Roy is a film that will invoke various emotions. You will be jealous of the extravagant lavishness that some blessed people get to experience in their normal lives. Fast cars and yachts, beautiful locations, larger than life swimming pools and Jacuzzi s which are bigger than a small apartment; some people do know how to live. Apart from this extravagance, the film also has a very detailed and nuanced yet slightly confusing story line. Jacqueline plays a double role which she does justice to. Ranbir grabs eyeballs, although he had a short role. The main role was Arjun's, and he does not disappoint. He has perfectly played the character of the arrogant and confident director Kabir Grewal. And the songs, which have already become chart busters, are the icing on the cake. Essentially, the film revolves around Arjun, who falls in love with another director (Played by Jacqueline), their brief but fiery romance, and the inevitable split and ultimately how he wins back her heart. Both of them shoot films in Malaysia. Arjun's film is a love story between the master thief Ranbir and a secluded billionaire, again played by Jacqueline; hence the double role. The finer mechanics of this complicated story line are a bit cloudy; at least I did not understand it completely. But apart from this minor hurdle, the film progresses at a brisk pace. It's captivating and the script packs a punch. In conclusion, we know this is the week of love. If you are tired of the quintessential romantic Bollywood movies and if you want to watch a slightly nuanced film with your valentine, where ultimately love triumphs, look no further. Roy will meet all your expectations. Enjoy!

Most awaited movie of 2015 with such a beautiful songs has nothing interesting in story.Debutant director Vikramjit Singh has written story, screenplay.Direction of the movie is nice but story as well as screenplay both are below average. Ranbir Kapoor as Roy is good.He is not as good as he was in his previous movies(except Besharam). His attitude is appreciable but in dialog delivery he failed in so many scenes.Arjun Rampal as Kabir Grewal is surprisingly good in every sequences and in some scenes he is better than Ranbir.Jacqueline Fernandez as Ayesha(a film maker) is better than as Tia(actress in Kabir's movie).Anupam Kher's cameo is good. Story starts with Kabir Grewal(Arjun Rampal)'s interview for his upcoming movie Gunspot 3.Kabir Grewal is known for his movies which he makes on the life of thief called Roy.He heard in news that someone has stole the painting from Malasiya. So he decided to make his new movie on that robbery. He met Ayesha(Jacqueline Farnandez),a film maker there.Tia is actor in female in Kabir's movie opposite Roy(Ranbir Kapoor) is lookalike Ayesha.Because of spreading rumors about Kabir and Ayesha,Ayesha decided to keep distance from him.Kabir stops his movie.Accidentally Kabir's father (Anupam Kher) died.Kabir can't accept that and he wants to move on from all the things so he decides to start movie again. And this last part where the trilogy ends becomes the highest grosser in opening weekend. He went back to Ayesha to have her back. Music of the movie is already #1 in chart buster especially the whistle in Tu Hai Ki Nahi.Director and editor has superb job in songs sequences. Overall, just love the songs of the movie because movie has nothing more appreciable.Ranbir disappointed and Arjun stood ahead.I'll go with 1.5/10

Do you all remember a topper in your school-life, who never gave straight answers. The one, who used to convolute simple answers to simple questions. Vikramjit Singh, the debutante director, is one such person, who thinks he is smart, ends up complicating his own so- called swell idea, called, "Roy". It is so bizarre, random and so damn convoluted, even the leading hero of the movie, Arjun Rampal, says,"Pata nahin. Yeh film kaise bani"(I'm clueless about how this film was made). You're not alone, Arjun, as we are thinking that way too. But most of all, I pity Ranbir Kapoor to choose such a convoluted script. Let's roll-in the synopsis. A maverick-cum-casanova filmmaker, Kabir Grewal(Arjun Rampal) is on the way to make a film on the art-thief called,"Roy". And for his movie, he flies off to Malaysia. There he meets the pink-lipped-Anglo-Indian filmmaker, Ayesha Aamir(Jacqueline Fernandez), and eventually, after continuous repeated meetings, she becomes his muse. In parallel to this story, a scintillating chemistry develops between a tourist, Roy(Ranbir Kapoor) and the red-lipped-beauty, Tia(Jacqueline Fernandez). Who is Tia? Will Ayesha be able to reciprocate Kabir's feelings for her? Who is Roy? What is/was he actually? How did he disappear? Find out by watching,"Roy". The subject chosen by the movie's writer-director, Vikramjit Singh, looks and sounds good on paper. But, and that is quite a big,'but', when it comes to execution(read, the final print), it appears so random, convoluted. Yet, it is quite sleek and classy. But, in a nutshell, it is a box-full-of-nuts, packaged as a box-full-of- chocolates. So sad, isn't it? As mentioned before, the story looks good on paper, but the screenplay and dialogues are so abysmally random(all written by Vikramjit Singh). The direction is no different(Vikramjit Singh). Music(Amal Mallik) is already a hit. It gels with the situations of the film, very well. Cinematography(Himman Dhamija) is colorful

Trailer and promo were reflecting that there is some mystery and thrill but after fifteen minutes of film you get the sense that there is nothing, you are victim of a boring stuff in the name of creativity. This is complex representation of a simple and many time seen concept. There is a dialogue in film that says that there is a type of film, which is only made for the sake of makers, without caring of audience, this line is appropriate for this film itself. Complete film is full of parallel cuts without any story line and emotions. It must have sounded fancy just at the idea level. Good actor Ranbir Kapoor gone waste. He had nothing to do. Sometimes I couldn't understand that what push them to do such type of film. Arjun Rampal is OK. Hindi does not suit a bit to Jacqueline Fernandez but she had make to speak difficult words even when it was not required for her character. It irritates more than her performance less acting.

Expectations: In our Hindi films its often seen that superstars are added to a film to increase it's star value. There have been many such examples where a superstar was roped in for a special appearance, but ended up doing an extended special appearance. We have seen many superstars like Rajesh Khanna (Anurag, Badnam Farishte, etc.), Amitabh Bachchan (Andha Kanoon, Insaniyat, etc.), Shah Rukh Khan (Dulha Mil Gaya, Army, etc.) and others obliging the film or film makers. The most recent example, seems of superstar of the current lot Ranbir Kapoor's appearance in 'Roy'. Looking at the promos or the poster of the film, it looks like Ranbir Kapoor is in the main lead, but going by the buzz and marketing strategies it seems like he has been added to add up the glamour quotient in the film. Though, there have been such cameo or extended appearances which have been apt for the screenplay of the film. Hoping on that basis, let's find out whether 'Roy' will set up as a latest example of having superstar in an extended role or going by the sensibilities of Ranbir Kapoor it could be the perfect role as per the requirement of the script.
