What A waste of time and money. I went to preview show and can see somemany people coming with hope and all it was just waste of time and money. Didnt expected this from such a huge star like Hritik. Some of the scene look like 1950's were police and gangster are chasing him for hours and hours shooting bullets and he is dodging those bullets in car and on bike....lol If you take a hunk like Hritik and if there no action scene then it is a waste.... There was Hardly any action in movie.... Barbra Mori looks nice but she cud have done better if there were more romantic scene of few hot scene in movie. There are hardly any romantic scene in movie. The kiss in barbra mori and Hritik is not passionate at all.... common guys this is 21st centuary even amir and karisma kiss was more passionate in raja hindustani 8 to 10 years ago.... Story line is very poor and I dont understand why movie name is kites? its doesnt make sense at all..... The villian of movie is just a waste there are more of comedy then scary..... kabir bedi is just a waste in movie.... Kangana is waste. Movie doesnt have subtitles in some scenes which makes it more frustating when somebody cant speak or understand spanish. on whole Its shuold get only one star as the dressing of both barbra and hritik looks amazing and of course dancing of hritik in fire.

'काइट्‌स' की कहानी पर यदि आप गौर करें तो यह बहुत ही साधारण है। इसमें कोई नयापन नहीं है। हजारों फिल्में इस तरह की कहानी पर हम देख चुके हैं। इसके बावजूद यदि फिल्म देखने लायक है तो इसकी असाधारण प्रस्तुतिकरण के कारण। निर्देशक अनुराग बसु इस मामूली कहानी को एक अलग ही स्तर पर ले गए हैं और फिल्म को उन्होंने इंटरनेशनल लुक दिया है। आधुनिक तकनीक, शार्प एडिटिंग और भव्यता का इतना उम्दा पैकिंग किया गया है कि पुराना माल (कहानी) भी खप जाता है। लास वेगास में रहने वाला जे (रितिक रोशन) पैसा कमाने के लिए उन लड़कियों से भी शादी कर लेता है जो ग्रीन कार्ड चाहती हैं। ऐसी ही 11 वीं शादी वह नताशा/लिंडा (बार्बरा मोरी) से करता है जो मैक्सिको से लास वेगास पैसा कमाने के लिए आई है। अरबपति और कैसिनो मालिक (कबीर बेदी) की बेटी जिना (कंगना) को जे डांस सिखाता है। जिना उस पर मर मिटती है। जे की नजर उसके पैसों पर है, इसलिए वह भी उससे प्यार का नाटक करने लगता है। उधर नताशा भी जिना के भाई टोनी (निक ब्राउन) से शादी करने के लिए तैयार हो जाती है ताकि उसकी गरीबी दूर हो सके। नताशा और जे की एक बार फिर मुलाकात होती है और उन्हें महसूस होता है कि वे एक-दूसरे को चाहने लगे हैं। शादी के एक दिन पहले जे के साथ नताशा भाग जाती है। टोनी और उसके पिता अपमानित महसूस करते हैं और वे जे-नताशा को तलाश करते हैं ताकि उनकी हत्या कर वे अपना बदला ले सके। टोनी कामयाब होता है या जे? यह फिल्म में लंबी चेजिंग के जरिये दिखाया गया है। इसमें कोई शक नहीं है कि फिल्म की कहानी बहुत ही सिंपल है। बहुत ज्यादा उतार-चढ़ाव भी नहीं हैं। कुछ खामियाँ भी हैं कि कैसे अमीर, शक्तिशाली और बिगड़ैल परिवार के दो सदस्य सड़कछाप लोगों से शादी करने के लिए तैयार हो जाते हैं या पैसे के पीछे भागने वाले जे और नताशा अचानक प्यार की खातिर सब कुछ ठुकरा देते हैं। लेकिन निर्देशक अनुराग बसु ने इस कहानी को इतने उम्दा तरीके से फिल्माया है कि इन बातों को इग्नोर किया जा सकता है। कहानी को सीधे तरीके से कहने के बजाय उन्होंने इसे जटिलता के साथ कहा है, जिससे फिल्म में रोचकता पैदा हो गई। फ्लेशबैक का उन्होंने बेहतरीन प्रयोग किया है। एक फ्लेशबैक शुरू होता है और इसके पहले कि वो पूरा हो दूसरे घटनाक्रम आरंभ हो जाते हैं। फिर आगे चलते हुए पुराने फ्लेशबैक को पूरा किया जाता है। अलर्ट रहते हुए दर्शक को सब याद रखना पड़ता है। फिल्म में इमोशन डालने के लिए संवादों का सहारा नहीं लिया गया है क्योंकि फिल्म के दोनों कैरेक्टर एक-दूसरे की भाषा नहीं जानते हैं, इसके बावजूद जे और नताशा के प्यार को आप महसूस कर सकते हैं। टोनी से बचते हुए उन्हें ये पता नहीं रहता कि कल वे जीवित रह पाएँगे या नहीं, इसलिए वे हर लम्हें में पूरी जिंदगी जी लेना चाहते है। इस बात को अनुराग ने खूबसूरती से पेश किया है। फिल्म की एडिटिंग चुस्त है जिससे फिल्म की गति में इतनी तेजी है कि ज्यादा सोचने का मौका दर्शकों को नहीं मिलता। 'काइट्‌स' को इंटरनेशनल लुक देने में इसकी एडिटिंग ने महत्वपूर्ण रोल अदा किया है। रितिक रोशन हैंडसम लगे हैं। जहाँ तक अभिनय का सवाल है तो फिल्म की शुरुआत में कैरेक्टर के मुताबिक लंपटता वे नहीं दिखा पाए, लेकिन इसके बाद प्यार में डूबे प्रेमी का रोल उन्होंने बेहतरीन तरीके से अभिनीत किया है। रितिक की तुलना में खूबसूरत बारबरा बड़ी लगती हैं, लेकिन उनकी कैमेस्ट्री खूब जमी है। बारबरा की एक्टिंग इतनी नेचुरल है कि लगता ही नहीं कि वे अभिनय कर रही हैं। कंगना और कबीर बेदी के पास करने को ज्यादा कुछ नहीं था। निक ब्राउन ने खलनायकी के तीखे तेवर दिखाए हैं। राजेश रोशन ने दो गीत 'जिंदगी दो पल की' और 'दिल क्यूँ ये मेरा' सुनने लायक बनाए हैं। फिल्म के संवाद अँग्रेजी, स्पैनिश और हिंदी में हैं। मल्टीप्लेक्स में अँग्रेजी और सिंगल स्क्रीन में हिंदी सब टाइटल दिए गए हैं। भारतीय दर्शक इस तरह के सब-टाइटल पढ़ने के आदी नहीं है और यह बात फिल्म के खिलाफ जा सकती है। तकनीकी रूप से फिल्म हॉलीवुड के स्तर की है। अयनंका बोस की सिनेमाटोग्राफी कमाल की है। सलीम-सुलैमान का बैकग्राउंड म्यूजिक उम्दा है। ‘काइट्‍स’ की कहानी पर यदि मेहनत की जाती तो इस फिल्म की बात ही कुछ होती। फिर भी आर्डिनरी कहानी को एक्स्ट्रा आर्डिनरी तरीके से पेश किया गया है और इस वजह से 'काइट्‌स' देखी जा सकती है।

Watched Kites last night here in UAE,Movie is one time watch,story not new,similarities to koyla but tragic end is realistic unlike bollywood,songs r just so so but the background music,action sequences and cinematography are commendable,Hrithik roshan and barbara mori's chemistry works,i will give 3 stars
