3.5 Very Good

I love courtroom dramas. Be it Jolly LLB 1 , Oh My God , Pink , Rustom etc. We all loved Arshad Warsi's act as Jolly in Jolly LLB . Jolly LLB 2 is a sequel to the original and the role of Jolly is reprised by Akshay Kumar.

Plot : Jagdish Mishra aka Jolly (Akshay Kumar) is a small time lawyer who dreams of becoming a big lawyer having a big office . In the pretext of fulfilling his dream he innocently commits a mistake that claims the life of a woman who is fighting to get justice for the murder of her husband by Inspector Suryaveer Singh (Kumud Mishra). Driven by guilt Jolly decides to fight against the system and vows to give justice to the deceased woman and files a PIL in court which is challenged by Advocate Mathur (Annu Kapoor) who represents Inspector Suryaveer. Will Jolly succeed in getting justice forms the crux of the story .

The 1st half sets up the mood and builds up the narration well. However it's the 2nd half that keeps you hooked to the screen. The courtroom scenes are well shot . The dialogues are clap worthy and well written . The film is a dark satire on our flawed judicial system and it has been well handled by giving a humorous touch .

Akshay Kumar is as usual brilliant . His confrontation scenes with Annu Kapoor are superb. Yet another hit in to his kitty . But it's the veterans Annu Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla that steals the show . Annu Kapoor is first rate and gives a splendid performance doing full justice to his role . Saurabh Shukla as the judge brings the house down with his comic act. His comic act is spot on and lovable. Watch out for the scenes between him and Annu Kapoor which is sure to get claps and whistles. Huma Qureshi as Jolly's wife doesn't have too much role to play but she has acted well. Kumud Mishra as the wicked police officer is superb. He is slowly carving a niche for himself.

On the whole JOLLY LLB 2 is a good watch if you like courtroom dramas. Recommended for good performance from the lead cast and clap worthy dialogues . Go for it !
