Bandar is scheduled to be released on 22 May, 2026. Bandar (also titled Monkey in a Cage) is Anurag Kashyap’s gritty next, produced by Saffron Magicworks. Inspired by real-life events, the crime-thriller follows Samar, a fading TV star played by Bobby Deol, who is accused of rape by... his ex Gayatri, triggering a harrowing journey through India’s deeply flawed prison and legal system. With Sanya Malhotra, Saba Azad, and Sapna Pabbi in key roles, the film explores cancel culture, justice, and redemption.Bandar premiered at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2025.
