Tovino Thomas becomes the only South Indian actor to bag the nomination for Best Asian Actor at Septimius Awards 2023

Tovino Thomas, who brought to life the trials and tribulations faced by residents of Kerala during the massive tsunami in 2018: Everyone Is A Hero, won hearts which also reflected in the box-office collections of the film. Declared as one of the blockbusters in Malayalam film industry, the film resonated with the audience who experienced the calamity first hand and now it seems that the film marked another milestone. The film’s lead actor Tovino Thomas has bagged the nomination in the Best Asian Actor category for the very prestigious Septimius Awards, making him the only South Indian actor to get this honor.

Septimius Awards is an annual award ceremony, held each year in the city of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The prestigious film festival will be held on the September 25 – 26, 2023, and it will be showcasing the best films and talent from around the world. Tovino Thomas' nomination for the movie 2018 Everyone Is A Hero takes the pride of Indian and Malayalam cinema to the international stage which will be graced by many global celebrities, which marks as a giant leap in the history of not just Malayalam cinema but also Indian cinema.

 

Talking about the film, director Jude Anthany Joseph recreated the Kerala floods in an extensive manner with the help of art department and production team who received massive appreciation for their work. In fact, 2018 Everyone Is A Hero is the biggest budget movie from Mollywood and it features an ensemble cast including Asif Ali, Kunchako Boban, Lal, Narain, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Aparna Balamurali, Tanvi, etc in lead roles. Produced by Venu Kunnappilly, C K Padma Kumar, and Anto Joseph under the banner of Kavya Film Company and PK Prime Productions, the film released on May 5 this year.
