SP Balasubrahmanyam’s health is extremely critical with maximal life support, says hospital 

Singer SP Balasubrahmnayam was hospitalised over a month ago. The singer’s health is currently extremely critical according to a statement released by the hospital. The hospital said that the singer is on 'maximal life support’. A week ago, the singer was showing steady progress but his health deteriorated in the past 24 hours.

The hospital statement read, "Thiru SP Balasubrahmanyam who had been admitted at MGM Healthcare on August 5th, remains on ECMO and other life support measures. His condition in the last 24 hours has deteriorated further warranting maximal life support and he is extremely critical. The team of experts at MGM Healthcare are closely monitoring his health condition."

 

On September 22, SP Charan, son of SPB informed that the singer is showing progress and was keen on getting discharged at the earliest. "Dad continues the steady progress toward getting better. Ekmo/ventilator, physio therapy continue with oral intake of liquids. He's been eager to leave the hospital as early as possible (sic)," he had posted on facebook.

 

SPB tested positive on August 5 with mild symptoms, However, his condition worsened on August 13 and he was put on ECMO and ventilator support. From the past few weeks the singer had been showing significant improvement.
