SCOOP: Priyanka Chopra’s role in SS Rajamouli’s movie is being re-written to suit her international stature
That Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been penciled in to play Mahesh Babu’s significant other in S. S. Rajamouli’s untitled jungle adventure is by now common knowledge.
What is not known is that Priyanka was “most reluctant” to step into the part even when she was being offered a humongous amount of money. (She is being paid Rs 35 crores for the film).
A source from Hyderabad, close to the project revealed, “Initially, the part she was offered was no bigger than what Alia Bhatt had in Rajamouli’s RRR. Priyanka Chopra agreed to do the new Rajamouli film only on condition that the female protagonist’s role be amplified to justify her (Priyanka’s) presence.”
This is not the only Indian project the Desi Girl going to be seen in. Apparently, Sanjay Leela Bhansali with whom she did Bajirao Mastani, has also offered Priyanka a project she is likely to say yes to.
