Samantha Ruth Prabhu looks mesmerizing as Shakuntala in the first look of Shaakuntalam

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has some interesting projects in the pipeline with Shaakuntalam being one of them. She will be essaying the mythological character Shakuntala in the film. On Monday morning, the actress dropped her first look from the film and she looks absolutely dreamy.

In the first look of Samantha as Shakuntala, she is seen dressed in a white blouse and dhoti with a dupatta. She is seen posing in a forest surrounded by animals and birds who are looking towards her, visibly taken in by her beauty.

 

Sharing the first look, Samantha wrote, "Presenting...Nature’s beloved.. the Ethereal and Demure.. “Shakuntala” from #Shaakuntalam".

 

 

 

Directed by Gunasekhar, the film will narrate the story of Shakuntala and Dushyanta's love saga by Kalidas. Dev Mohan will be seen essaying the role of Dushyanta, the King of the Puru Dynasty. Allu Arjun's daughter Allu Arha will also be making her acting debut with the film. The little one will be seen as Prince Bharata in the film. Mohan Babu, Sachin Khedekar, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, and Varshini Sounderajan alos play a pivotal role in the film.

 

Meanwhile, Samantha will next be seen in the film Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal, a rom-com directed by Vignesh Shivan. The film also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. The film will be released in theatres on April 28.
