Rishab Shetty expressed his love for cricket; says, "Both cricket and cinema are two of my greatest loves"

Rishab Shetty gained fame as one of the most popular storytellers, directors, and versatile actors in Indian cinema after the stupendous success that Kantara tasted when it released in 2022. The actor-filmmaker, who is gearing up to continue with another chapter creating this fantasy drama into a franchise, revealed about his love cricket in a recent interaction.

Besides sharing immense passion for cinema, did you know that the Kannada superstar Rishab Shetty is also a loyal follower of the sport, cricket. In a recently given interview, he confessed about being a player in his childhood and teenage days, and said, "I used to be an ardent cricket player during my school and college days. Even today, I have a cricket kit in the boot of my car and take to playing the game whenever I get time off from work."

 

In fact, an image of Rishab Shetty was uploaded on social media from the sets of Kantara, and speaking about the same, he revealed, "It's the same field where we did our rehearsals for Kantara, and the team that helped me prepare for my role was also the one to aid me in shooting this video as well. I enjoyed planning this out, as both cricket and cinema are two of my greatest loves.

 

For the unversed, Rishab is gearing up to shoot Kantara: Chapter 1, which is a spin-off of the 2022 fantasy drama and will trace the origin of folklore which was depicted in the first instalment. Opening about the much-awaited Pan-India film, Rishab added, "With Kantara Chapter 1 set to go on floors soon, my schedule has become extremely hectic. I didn't have the time to travel to Bengaluru to put this video together. So we decided on a concept that works in such a way that we could shoot in my hometown of Kundapura."
