Prabhas admits to being “Bored of VFX-heavy films”; but is “buoyed” by Kalki 2898 AD teaser

Prabhas, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD, recently opened up about his views on VFX-heavy films. During a Q&A session at the San Diego Comic-Con, the actor admitted that he had grown tired of working in a CGI environment. "I got bored of it. It's not real stuff, but then it is real," Prabhas said.

The actor's comments come as a surprise, given that he has starred in several VFX-heavy films in recent years, including Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, and Saaho.

"It's not that I don't like VFX films. I just don't like doing the same thing over and over again," he said. Prabhas went on to say that he was "buoyed" by the teaser of Kalki 2898 AD, which he felt was "different" from his previous films.

Kalki 2898 AD is written and directed by Nag Ashwin of Mahanati fame. The sci-fi film was announced on Vyjayanthi Movies' 50th anniversary. Kalki 2898 AD will be released in theatres on January 12, 2024.

In addition to Prabhas, Kalki 2898 AD also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in key roles. The film's supporting cast includes Rana Daggubati, Kamal Haasan, and others.
