Naga Chaitanya starrer Thandel to celebrate the work of late Sushma Swaraj; Producer expresses gratitude towards minister’s family

Ahead of the release of the Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi starrer Thandel, keeping up with the momentum, some interesting trivia and information about the film has come to light. By now, readers would be aware that the patriotic romantic actioner is based on real events that took place in 2018, where Indian fishermen were held captive by Pakistani forces and were jailed. For the unversed, the Former Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj, was the reason behind their release.

The politician was a courageous advocate for Indians abroad and contributed tirelessly in securing the release of 22 fishermen who were held in Pakistan's jail. After the iconic leader passed away, her daughter, Bansuri Swaraj, ensured the return of those 22 fishermen. Director Chandoo Mondeti, who is set to bring the incident to the big screens with Thandel, wanted to highlight this unwavering contribution made by Sushma Swaraj and her family.

 

In order to celebrate their hard work and efforts, producer, Bunny Vasu, approached Bansuri Swaraj to seek permission to use the name of Sushma Swaraj as well as the real footage of the press conferences. To this, the family wholeheartedly granted them permission along with a No Objection Certificate (NOC). Upon receiving permission, Bunny Vasu also extended his gratitude and penned a note saying, "Heartfelt gratitude to @BansuriSwaraj garu for giving us the opportunity to showcase the remarkable work of your mother, the former Central Minister Mrs. @SushmaSwaraj garu, in bringing back the fishermen who were stuck in Pakistani jails in 2017 and 2018 in our #Thandel… Your support in granting permission to share the names in our real, hard-hitting story of Raju and Satya means a lot to us. <3”.

 

 

Speaking of the film, it stars Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi as the protagonists, while Sundip R Ved plays the role of an antagonist. The film’s technical crew includes National Award-winning composer Devi Sri Prasad handling the music along with Shamdat as cinematographer, Naveen Nooli as the editor, and Srinagendra Tangala handling the art department.

 

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, it is produced under the banner of Geetha Arts, with Allu Aravind presenting it. The film is set to land in the theatres on February 7 in multiple languages including Hindi.
