Khushbu Sundar slams AIADMK leader C Ve Shanmugam’s “I want Nayanthara” comment
AIADMK leader and Rajya Sabha MP C Ve Shanmugam triggered a mammoth controversy after he made a misogynistic remark on ‘Lady Superstar’ Nayanthara.
Shanmugam, while criticising the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin's “Tell Us Your Dream” initiative under which volunteers will visit homes and collect public feedback, took a dig at the scheme.
The AIADMK MP said, “I want Nayanthara, will you fulfil? Will he (M K Stalin) fulfil someone’s dream to marry Nayanthara?”
The remark has triggered widespread protest with adverse reactions pouring in from all across the country.
Speaking exclusively to this writer, veteran actress Khushbu Sundar said, “I vehemently condemn this. It’s an insult not only to women but humankind. Women are not your property. Female actors are public figures and not a public property to be used by such disgraceful men. Its shows their upbringing and shallow mindset.”
