Kalki 2898 AD: Prabhas and Diljit Dosanjh team up for ‘Bhairava Anthem’: “India's biggest song”

Excitement is at a fever pitch for director Nag Ashwin's upcoming sci-fi epic, Kalki 2898 AD. With just a week left until the film's release, the team has unveiled the promo for the first song, ‘Bhairava Anthem’, featuring the vocals of Diljit Dosanjh and Prabhas.

Billed as “India's biggest song,” the 21-second promo offers a glimpse into the high-energy, peppy number composed by Santosh Narayanan. The visuals hint at a vibrant, futuristic world, aligning with the film's overall aesthetic. The promo features both Diljit and Prabhas, suggesting the song might be a promotional number with Punjabi influences.

 

 

 

Instead of following the typical promotional route, Ashwin has taken a unique approach, familiarizing audiences with the meticulously crafted world of Kalki 2898 AD. This has included introducing the film's central characters: Prabhas's bounty hunter, Bhairava, and Amitabh Bachchan's Aswatthama. Additionally, the team introduced Bujji, an AI droid voiced by Keerthy Suresh in the Telugu version of the film.

 

Further amping up the hype, the Kalki 2898 AD team held a special event in Hyderabad to showcase a custom-built vehicle created for the film. This impressive feat was achieved with the collaboration of Anand Mahindra and Ceat. Prabhas himself took the wheel, unveiling the vehicle to a crowd of eager fans and press members. The event also saw guest appearances by actors Naga Chaitanya and F1 racer Narain Karthikeyan, who both had the opportunity to test drive the vehicle. For fans eager to delve deeper into the world of Kalki 2898 AD, an animated prelude titled Bujji and Bhairava was released on Amazon Prime Video.

 

The star-studded cast of Kalki 2898 AD boasts Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani, and Kamal Haasan in leading roles. Set in a dystopian future, the film explores the struggles of those living in Kashi, a city deprived of resources that are instead directed to the opulent Complex. Prabhas portrays a bounty hunter navigating this harsh reality, amidst the hope for the prophesied arrival of Kalki, the tenth avatar of Vishnu.

 

Kalki 2898 AD is set to hit theatres across India on June 27, releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages.
