Akhanda 2 Thandavam teaser out! Nandamuri Balakrishna returns in fierce avatar for Pan-India sequel

The teaser of Akhanda 2: Thandavam, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and directed by Boyapati Sreenu, has officially been released on June 9. Unveiled on the occasion of Balakrishna’s birthday, the teaser offered a first look at the much-anticipated sequel to the 2021 action-drama Akhanda. The film is slated for a pan-India theatrical release on September 25 as a Dussehra special.

Akhanda 2: Thandavam marks the fourth collaboration between Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu, following their successful outings in the mass cinema space. The film is produced by Raam Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner and is presented by M Tejeswini Nandamuri.

 

The teaser introduces Balakrishna in a divine and intense avatar, with visuals rooted in spiritual iconography. Adding a spiritual tone to the teaser is a sequence that features a Trishul flanked by a Nandi sculpture, set against a snow-covered Himalayan backdrop. The teaser also aims at giving a glimpse of the action-heavy sequences choreographed by Ram-Lakshman including scenes of Balakrishna taking on goons and a close-up involving the Trishul further fuelling up intrigue among audience about the mystic tone of the film.

 

 

Thaman S, who previously composed for Akhanda, returns to score the background music. The rest of the technical crew includes - cinematography by C. Ramprasad and Santoshh D Detake, editing by Tammiraju, and art direction by A.S. Prakash.

 

The film also stars Samyuktha as the female lead and Aadhi Pinisetty in the antagonist's role. A major schedule of the film is currently underway in Georgia, where key portions are being filmed.

 

 

With a pan-India release planned in multiple languages, Akhanda 2: Thandavam is being positioned as a major festive release for Dussehra 2025. The teaser has already generated substantial buzz among fans of the franchise, setting the tone for its theatrical rollout.
