BTS, SEVENTEEN and Stray Kids feature in Top 10 of IFPI’s 2022 Global Artist Chart

 

As noted by the Korean tabloid Soompi, on February 22, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), a non-profit organization that represents the music recording industry worldwide, shared its annual rankings of last year’s top global artists.

 

The chart measures worldwide consumption across all formats and looks at an artist’s entire body of work. This year’s chart features three K-pop acts including BTS, SEVENTEEN and Stray Kids ranking at second, sixth and seventh positions, respectively.

 

Marking their fifth appearance in the top 10 of IFPI’s Global Artist Chart and fourth time in the top two, BTS secured the second position in the chart this year. In 2021, the super titans created history by becoming the first Asian act to win the IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year Award. The band also set a new record after topping the chart for the second year in a row.

 

 

Moreover, SEVENTEEN secured sixth position on this year’s chart. The band had previously made it in to the top 10 for two consecutive years. Meanwhile, Stray Kids made it to the chart’s top 10 at No. 7 for the first time.

 

 

 

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift topped the chart for the third time. The Hollywood artist also becomes the only artist to achieve such a feat in the chart’s history.
