Varun Dhawan plugs his upcoming film when asked to share wishes to newlyweds Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot on April 14 after dating for five years. The couple had an intimate ceremony at Ranbir's Bandra home, Vastu. The festivities were attended only by family members and close friends of the couple. The couple had also hosted a post-wedding party, which was attended by some of their close friends from the industry who were not present for the wedding.
Actor Varun Dhawan, who is a close friend of Alia, however, was missing from the wedding party, as he was not in the city. Varun and Alia made their acting debut together in the 2012 film Student Of The Year. Recently, when Varun Dhawan was spotted by the paparazzi, he was asked to give a message to the newlyweds. The actor took the opportunity to plug in his upcoming film while also sending good wishes to the couple.
"Jug Jugg Jeeyo," said Varun Dhawan wishing Alia and Ranbir. JugJugg Jeeyo is the title of Varun Dhawan’s upcoming film. The film directed by Raj Mehta of Good Newwz fame also stars Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, and Kiara Advani. The film will be released in theatres on June 24.
Meanwhile, Varun was shooting for his film Bawaal in Lucknow when Alia and Ranbir got married in Mumbai. For Bawaal, Varun will be sharing screen with Janhvi Kapoor for the first time. The actor also has Bhediya with Kriti Sanon and Indian version of Citadel with Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the pipeline.
