On June 2, a Taare Zameen Par Fan Meetup was held at an auditorium in Mumbai and was attended by the team of the 2007 classic – actor-director-producer Aamir Khan, fellow actors Darsheel Safary, Vipin Sharma and Tisca Chopra and music composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The team of Sitaare Zameen Par also graced the event and they came on stage and entertained the audience.

These actors talked to the audience with a lot of excitement about their film and urged them to watch the film. Later, Aamir Khan revealed, “I have made 40-45 films until now. All the people in a film unit are creative and passionate. As a result, there are always clashes. Sometimes, the cinematographer gets angry at the director. Sound recordist toh har aadmi pe bhadakta hai (laughs). Even the actors have egos and moods. Hence, I have experienced in every film that there’s some argument, whether small or big. As a producer, I had to tackle it. If the production designer is fighting with anyone, I am trying to calm him/her down.”

Aamir Khan continued, “When Sitaare Zameen Par was being made, I told my director, ‘Prasanna, have you noticed something? During the shoot of this film, not a single person ever raised their voice. There was no problem at all that a neuro-typical person would have usually when they are working together’.”

He added, “The reason for it was these 10 people. They used to come with a lot of energy. They would come happily on the set and would kiss and hug you! As a result, the energy of everyone, from a spot boy to the director, would change. If we are not in a good mood and are about to scold anyone, we would stop ourselves. We think, ‘Inke saamne mujhe yeh tone istemaal nahin karna hai’.”

Directed by R S Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par releases in cinemas on June 20.
