Sumona Chakravarti shows support to Ranveer Singh; says his nude photoshoot neither hurt her sentiments nor insulted her modesty

Ranveer Singh recently did a nude photoshoot with Paper Magazine that went viral across platforms and garnered ample attention from netizens. In fact, a lot of his friends from the industry also appreciated the Bajirao Mastani actor for opting such a bold shoot. However, some people took offense to it and even approached the Mumbai Police to register an FIR against the actor for hurting the sentiments and outraging the modesty of a woman. But now actress Sumona Chakravarti, most known for The Kapil Sharma Show and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, came out in support of the star.

Not too long ago, Alia Bhatt defended Ranveer Singh during the trailer launch of her forthcoming black comedy Darlings. Now joining the bandwagon is also Sumona Chakravarti who took to Instagram to post a story about it. She shared an article about the complaint being registered against the actor, adding, “I am a WOMAN. Neither is my modesty insulted nor my sentiments hurt.”

 

 

Furthermore, she also posted another story which is a Facebook chat page with her mother in which her mother was seen commenting on Ranveer’s pic saying, “Pics were great! God knows which sentiment got hurt! Maybe they wanted to see more!!” Sharing it on her story, Sumona also added, “This is my mother – also a WOMAN had to say!”

 

 

For the uninitiated, Mumbai based lawyer Vedia Chaubey filed a case against Ranveer Singh at the Chembur Police Station on the grounds of hurting sentiments of a woman as well as outraging her modesty. Followed by this complaint, an FIR was registered against the actor under Indian Penal Code 509, 292, 294 as well as under the Information Technology Act.
