Veteran star and Bollywood’s eternal diva Sridevi passed away on Saturday night and we are still reeling from the shock. She was just 54 and looked fit. A self-confessed fitness freak and a doting mother of two, this actress went away too soon breaking many hearts and leaving her family inconsolable. What was supposed to be a family affair in Dubai turned out to be a horrific nightmare. The actress was in Dubai for nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding and was supposed to go on a dinner date with husband Boney Kapoor on the night of this fateful incident.

Looking back at her old interviews, one gauges that she was a hands on mother and a total fashionista. While there is mystery surrounding her sudden cardiac arrest and subsequent death, here are bits from the interview she gave years ago to Verve magazine which gives us an insight into the life and times of Sri. While talking about her personal evolution of style she confessed to the magazine that she dresses up for her daughters and husband. She said,” They feel happy when they see me looking beautiful. I dress for them and, of course, for myself. Every woman feels good when she looks good. It is important that as women, we never give up in life or think, ‘I’m done’.”

 

She also said that she has worked out all her life and was finicky about gaining weight. In an another interview to a TV channel, the English Vinglish actress confessed that she had gained oodles of kilos after birth of her second child Khushi. Her elder one Jahnavi then came up to her and told her that she does has gained weight and needs to bring it down.

 

She also revealed that she, Jahnavi and Khushi worked out together. They inherited her love for fitness but her husband Boney did not care for it much. She said, “I’ve been working out all my life. And now that I am older, I have to work harder to look better. I look forward to it. Luckily, my daughters are also health freaks. We go for walks and cycling, especially when we are abroad. We enjoy working out, while Boneyji sits at home, enjoying his biryani. I am still trying to change him though. I won’t give up!”

 

According to reports, Sridevi’s mortal remains will be brought back today. Entire Bollywood and South film industry will bid her a teary farewell.
