Sharvari says she manifested to be a part of Imtiaz Ali film as Main Vaapas Aaunga teaser releases; pens heartfelt note!

The teaser of filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga was unveiled today, offering a first look at the film’s world. The project brings together an ensemble cast that includes Diljit Dosanjh, Vedang Raina, Sharvari and veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah.

Soon after the teaser launch, Sharvari took to Instagram to share a note for Imtiaz Ali, reflecting on her long-standing admiration for the filmmaker and her experience of working on the film.

 

In her post, the actor wrote, “To say that I have been a huge fan of your cinema would be an understatement. Today as our teaser drops, I can’t help but go back to the day when I attended a masterclass three years ago that you were conducting for Mani sir.”

 

She further recalled how she had once hoped to collaborate with him. “I remember I put up a story on Instagram that day manifesting to be a part of your films someday. Little did I know I would see a teaser that ends with ‘A film by Imtiaz Ali’ which stars me.”

 

Sharvari also spoke about her experience of working on the film. “Main Vaapas Aaunga’s journey for me as a young actor who is hungry to be moulded into different lives on screen has been the most fulfilling one only because of your encouragement and belief.”

 

 

 

She added that the process of working with the director will remain special to her. “From the recce to finishing shoot and all the conversations over multiple lunches and dinners will be my most cherished memories. Thank you sir! You are not just a one-of-a-kind filmmaker but also a person.”

 

Main Vaapas Aaunga is set in Imtiaz Ali’s evocative world of love and longing, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari Wagh and Vedang Raina in pivotal roles. The film also reunites the legendary musical trio of A. R. Rahman, Imtiaz Ali and Irshad Kamil. Produced by Sameer Nair and Deepak Segal of Applause Entertainment and Mohit Choudhary and Shibasish Sarkar of Window Seat Films, the film releases in cinemas on June 12, 2026.
