Shahid Kapoor REACTS to Hrithik Roshan's “Stardom” remark: "I have the opposite problem"

While promoting his upcoming film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Shahid Kapoor addressed Hrithik Roshan's recent comments about the burdens of stardom. In an interview with Film Companion, Hrithik had called being a star "unhealthy" and a potential barrier to acting freedom. However, Kapoor expressed a contrasting perspective, revealing his own "opposite problem."

"I can understand why he said that," Kapoor acknowledged, empathising with Roshan's sentiment. "I get it. There's definitely pressure and limitations that come with stardom."

However, Kapoor spoke about his personal priority: "I have the opposite problem. I do not want to lose the actor in me, so sometimes I sacrifice the stardom." He explained, "I am on the other side of the fence. His journey is very different from mine."

Kapoor further elaborated on his approach, citing iconic actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, Amitabh Bachchan, and Dilip Kumar as inspirations. "There is definite stardom with heavy acting jobs," he said. "I have grown up watching that and I aspire for that." While acknowledging the benefits of stardom, Kapoor prioritises artistic freedom and challenging acting opportunities.

Coming back to Shahid’s next, it is directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah under Maddock Films production. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande, and Laxman Utekar. Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is scheduled to hit theaters on February 9, 2024.
