Shahid Kapoor lauds Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya co-star Kriti Sanon’s dancing skills; says, “She was better than me”

As anticipation mounts for the release of Shahid Kapoor's much-awaited Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya on February 9, fans are treated to a tantalizing glimpse into the world of music and dance with four already released songs.

In a recent interview with E-times, Shahid Kapoor, renowned for his prowess on the dance floor, candidly shared his experience of filming the title track alongside co-star Kriti Sanon. Despite being hailed as one of the best dancers in the industry, Shahid humbly admitted that Kriti outshone him with her grace and skill during the dance sequences.

 

He said, “I was dancing after 8 years while Kriti gets an opportunity to dance in movies at least twice every year, so I was a little nervous. And while we were dancing, she would tell me that she was nervous. But I had my own set of issues to deal with, that come with dancing after such a long break. I think the music of the film is really fun, and I really enjoyed myself. I was telling Kriti the other day that by the third song (title song), she was better than me.”

 

On the other hand, Kriti Sanon, in the same interview, confessed to feeling intimidated by Shahid Kapoor's dance skills. She expressed her admiration for Shahid's precision and ease on the dance floor, admitting, “I was actually nervous to dance with him because I have seen him dance over the years. He's sharp, knows his moves and is effortless.” She further added, “And I do love dancing, and have loved it before I knew I could act. So I think dancing has been my first love. I'm trained in Kathak because my mom thought she likes dancing, so let's give her a base and grounding.”

 

Talking about the film, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Shahid and Kriti essay the roles of a robotic expert and a robot, respectively. With veteran actors Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia also part of the cast, anticipation runs high for the film’s release on February 9, 2024.
