Shah Rukh Khan reveals that Imtiaz Ali first offered him a film about a man trying to commit suicide

 

One of the most awaited movies of the year is Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal. The film is light hearted take on a quirky love story. The lead characters Harry and Sejal meet in Europe and their crazy journey begins. Recently, in an interview, Shah Rukh Khan opened up about what story Imtiaz Ali had narrated him and how they changed it to make it a happier story. He revealed that Imtiaz had approached him with an idea that his character Harry was trying to commit suicide. SRK did not like that and had instantly dismissed that idea. He, later, asked Imtiaz to write a happier story that gave birth to Jab Harry Met Sejal.

 

Speaking of working with Imtiaz Ali for the first time, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that he had not seen any of his films but when he met him, he found Imtiaz Ali to be very sensitive and gentle person. He had found the same quality in Yash Chopra and Karan Johar.

 

Jab Harry Met Sejal is the third time Shah Rukh Khan is working with Anushka Sharma. Previously, they have starred in Rab Ne Bana Jodi and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Besides this, they will also be starring together in Aanand L Rai's untitled film in which SRK is a dwarf. Coming to Jab Harry Met Sejal, it is helmed by Imtiaz Ali and is scheduled to release on August 4.
