Sanjay Dutt pays emotional tribute to mother Nargis on her 44th death anniversary
On the 44th death anniversary of legendary actress Nargis Dutt, her son, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, shared a heartfelt tribute that resonated deeply with fans and admirers across the globe. Taking to Instagram, Sanjay posted a series of monochrome photographs capturing cherished moments from his childhood with his parents, Nargis and Sunil Dutt, accompanied by an emotional message: “You may not be here, but your love never left, Miss you everyday Maa.”

The poignant post featured tender glimpses of a young Sanjay with his iconic family, including a radiant Nargis holding books and smiling brightly, and a family portrait with Sunil Dutt carrying their toddler son. The images evoked nostalgia, reflecting the warmth and love that defined the Dutt household. Fans flooded the comments section with love and admiration, with Sanjay’s daughter Trishala Dutt leaving pink heart emojis. One fan wrote, “Legends in one frame,” while another hailed the “legendary Dutt saab and family.”
Nargis Dutt, revered as one of Indian cinema’s finest actresses, passed away on May 3, 1981, at the age of 51, just three days before the release of Sanjay’s debut film, Rocky. Her death from pancreatic cancer was a profound loss, not only for her family but for the entire film industry. The timing added a bittersweet note to Sanjay’s entry into Bollywood, with a seat kept vacant for Nargis at the Rocky premiere as a tribute to her enduring presence.
On the professional front, Sanjay Dutt is currently seen in his latest release, The Bhootnii. The horror-comedy, directed by Siddhant Sachdev, hit theatres on May 1, 2025. The film features Sanjay as a quirky ghost hunter alongside Palak Tiwari, Mouni Roy, and Sunny Singh. Sanjay is also gearing up for Housefull 5, set to release on June 6, 2025, and Baaghi 4 with Tiger Shroff.
