Pathaan: PM Narendra Modi hails theatres running housefull in Kashmir; Shah Rukh Khan fans credit the film for the achievement

While the advance bookings itself showcased the massive fandom for Pathaan, the film has now created record-breaking history in the world of Bollywood. In a recent Parliament session, when our honorable PM addressed the topic of housefull theatres, fans of the film and superstar Shah Rukh Khan couldn’t help but believe that the Prime Minister was actually crediting the film, co-starring Deepika Padukone for inspiring people to return to theatres.

A video of honorable PM Narendra Modi discussing about housefull theaters from a Parliament session was posted by several fans and fan clubs of Shah Rukh Khan on social media, in which, he was seen saying, “Srinagar ke andhar itne saalon baad theatres housefull chal rahein hai (theatres are running housefull in Srinagar after several years).” Many fans of the superstar felt that Mr. Modi was talking about Pathaan and how the Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone starrer managed to get back people into theatres.

Fans of the film and SRK went on to gush about the speech saying, “The theatre have been open for a year and a half now but only pathaan did this. None of the movie could do this,” commented on of the fans. “#pathaan be like jalwa hai hamara,” added another. One of the users stated, “That's the power of SRK pm ko be heran kar diya Pathaan movie,” whereas another user agreed to it, continuing, “Ye sirf srk kar sakta hai or kisi ke baski nahi hai”.

Some of them even mentioned how the ‘Boycott campaign failed and the film managed to become a success, despite the many controversies that surrounded it prior to its release. Readers would be aware that Pathaan was facing much backlash prior to its release, especially after the makers unveiled the first track ‘Besharam Rang’, including some politicians demanding a ban on the film. However, overcoming these hindrances, YRF ensured a smooth release of the action entertainer.

Pathaan is directed by Siddharth Anand and had a worldwide release on January 25 in Tamil and Telugu too, along with Hindi.
