Fans felt nostalgic when The Academy shared a clip from the popular Lagaan song, ‘Radha Kaise Na Jale’. On its official Instagram page, The Academy, known for awarding the Oscars annually, posted the video showcasing lead actors Aamir Khan and Gracy Singh. Lagaan was released in theatres in 2001.

Along with the clip, the post was captioned, “Love, longing and a little bit of fire in her eyes. Feeling nostalgic.” One fan asked, “Musicals used to be so good, what happened to the game?” Meanwhile, a social media user declared, “Best song ever.”

 

Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India (2001) is an epic period musical sports drama directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and earned widespread acclaim from both critics and audiences. It was reportedly produced on a budget of Rs. 25 crores.

 

The film also featured Suhasini Mulay, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Rajendra Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Rajesh Vivek, Raj Zutshi, Akhilendra Mishra, Daya Shankar Pandey, and Yashpal Sharma. Additionally, British actors Rachel Shelley and Paul Blackthorne also appeared in the movie.
