Mannara Chopra opens up about the support she received from her cousin Priyanka Chopra Jonas for Bigg Boss 17; reveals they wanted to send her ‘cash’ as a gift

Mannara Chopra, who has maintained time and again that she doesn’t like to use the ‘Chopra’ name for her fame, retained a similar rule in the Bigg Boss 17 house. She had insisted that the contestants directed any comments towards her without dragging her family, especially her cousin and global superstar Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Meanwhile, during several moments which she encountered in the BB house, she was seen receiving support from Dr. Madhu Chopra and the latter’s daughter Priyanka too.

Recently opening up about a conversation that Mannara Chopra had with Priyanka Chopra Jonas about her stint in the Bigg Boss 17 house, the actress told the media, Priyanka told me, ‘Mujhe saari jagah tere hee tags aate jaa rahe the. Mujhe tera saara journey pata hai.’ Yeh telecast America mein nahi ho raha tha. Usne kaha pehle apna gala thik kar. Kyunki waha itna baat karna padhta hai. (I seem to be receiving a lot of tags of your name on my social media. I know your entire journey even though the show doesn’t get telecasted in America. She told me to take care of my throat because I had to speak a lot in the house).”

 

Continuing further, Mannara added, “But she gave me a lot of good tips also. She said, ‘I am so proud of you ke tuney family ke naam pe game nahi khela. Tuney bola mere baarein mein baat karo.’ Maine bola, Haan didi. Thora mujhe awkward lag raha tha ghar ke andar family ke baare. Then she asked me, ‘Ab tereko gift kya chahiye? Hum tereko cash bhej rahe hai.’ I said nahi, mujhe dresses chahiye, kapde. (you didn’t use the family name to play the game. You said if you want to speak about me, then it should be only be me. I agreed with her and also told her I felt awkward to talk about our family inside the house. She also asked me if I wanted any gift. She wanted to send cash but I said no. I told her I need clothes) So many interviews, so many events. Then she said, ‘Promise, hum kapde bhejenge (we will send clothes).’ Now I am waiting for the clothes and I’ll rock!”

 

In the past, Priyanka Chopra Jonas had taken to her Instagram story and had come out in support of her cousin Mannara during the show. On the other hand, her mother Dr. Madhu Chopra too had voiced out her concern when several female contestants on the show had ganged up against the South actress and were seen having a showdown with her.
