Kartik Aaryan recalls not believing Chandu Champion to be a true story: “You’ll see a complete transformation in me throughout the film”

Kartik Aaryan is all set to grace the couch of Neha Dhupia’s show, No Filter Neha season 6. Among many other things, Kartik will also be seen talking about his upcoming film, Chandu Champion. For the unversed, Kartik has gone through physical transformation for the prep of the Kabir Khan directorial. While talking about the same, Kartik also called it as “one of the toughest films.”

 

Kartik Aaryan recalls not believing Chandu Champion to be a true story: “You’ll see a complete transformation in me throughout the film”

 

Speaking of the same in detail, Kartik asserted, “Chandu Champion is one of the toughest films that I have done because it has so many elements. Murlikant Petkar ji’s journey is unlike any other. When I first heard the film, I couldn’t believe it was a true story. He was not associated with one sport alone; there were different sports and different phases in his life. Also, he was an army officer. So, the logline of the film is a man who refuses to surrender.”

 

The Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety actor further added, “We are showing him at 17 years old, 24 years old, and in later [years]. So, you’ll see a complete transformation in me throughout the film. My [fitness] routine was based on how the character had to look—he had to look childlike at one stage and mature in another. The shoot lasted a year, and I didn’t do anything else during that time.”

 

For the unversed, Chandu Champion, directed by Kabir Khan, is slated to release on June 14 this year. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, it will be Kartik’s first collaboration with Kabir.
