Janhvi Kapoor recalls mother Sridevi’s words of dressing up in new and bright clothes during Diwali

Janhvi Kapoor was very close to her mother Sridevi. The actress passed away a couple of years ago in an unfortunate incident in Dubai while attending a wedding function. The entire country grieved her loss, and the family is still coping with it. With Diwali being a massively important festival in the Kapoor household, Janhvi Kapoor along with Khushi Kapoor and Boney Kapoor had left for Chennai last week to visit her mother’s newly renovated ancestral home. While they are back in Mumbai for Diwali celebrations, Janhvi Kapoor recalled how her mother would ask them to dress up well on Diwali.

Appreciating her father’s efforts of getting her late mother’s ancestral house renovated during the pandemic, Janhvi Kapoor expressed how delighted she was to visit the beach house and meet her mother’s side of the family. She said that Sridevi would always tell them that they should dress up in bright colours and new clothes on New Year, Diwali, and their birthdays. Their main house staff will overlook the entire décor since it used to be Sridevi who would do all the preparations in time. Janhvi Kapoor also said that she was very excited to be dressing up about a very long time.

 

She further recalled how they would illuminate diyas in Chennai as kids during Diwali, out on the streets, and would gorge on delicious south Indian delicacies.
