“Jab Harry Met Sejal is not a bad film”, says Imtiaz Ali (watch EXCLUSIVE video)
Imtiaz Ali is all set to impress us with his newest rendition on love and separation. He will make a movie on the eternal love story of Radha Krishna. The new project was announced over the weekend on the occasion of Janmashthami. His newest project Laila Majnu is also all set to hit the theatres soon and we are expecting fireworks on screen this time. His last release was Shah Rukh Khan-Anushka Sharma’s movie Jab Harry Met Sejal and well, it did not exactly do record breaking business at the box office.
There was a lot of criticism which came Ali’s way for the film. Imtiaz spoke exclusively to Bollywood Hungama with regard to this and took the whole thing very sportingly. He was asked if he was surprised and not in a good way after JHMS released to which he said, “I was surprised with reaction on Jab Harry Met Sejal. It is all in the game. All you can do it dedicate to it the best way you can and then move on with it. Forget about it. I am not saying it is a bad film. Because mujhe aise lagta hai director kaun hota hai apne film ke baare mai opinion dene wala (a director can’t really judge his own film). Uska kam hota hai acche se bana dena (His job is to give his best) and I am happy with my work. Am happy with the experience. It is ok you live and learn.”
Imtiaz was also criticised for wrongly getting carried away with a lot of in film advertisement to which he said, “I think if it can be done artistically it can be fine. I don’t remember exactly if it interfered too much with storyline. If it was obvious, it was a mistake. There is a way to do things artistically without letting the film hinder.”
