Imtiaz Ali celebrates mother’s 75th birthday with heartwarming family gathering in Pahalgam; watch
Renowned filmmaker Imtiaz Ali marked his mother’s 75th birthday with a celebration in Pahalgam, Kashmir. He offered a glimpse of the family gathering by posting a series of photos and a video on his official Instagram account.
During the cake-cutting ceremony, everyone was seen wearing matching T-shirts featuring the director’s mother’s face. Imtiaz captioned the post, “Gratitude and love as mom turns 75! In Pahalgam, Kashmir @khawarjamsheed @arifali1541 @haya_vakil @mahidaisha…more.”
Pahalgam recently came into the spotlight due to a tragic terror attack that resulted in the death of at least 26 civilians.
On the work front, Imtiaz Ali recently announced his upcoming film featuring Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina, and Sharvari. According to reports, the yet-to-be-titled drama is expected to go on floors in August this year and is slated for a theatrical release on Baisakhi 2026.
Sharing insights about his upcoming film, Imtiaz Ali released a statement saying, “‘Tum mere paas hote ho goya, Jab koi doosra nahin hota’, Momin. Can love truly be lost? Can a home ever be taken from someone’s heart?”
He further added, “It’s set on a grand canvas but remains deeply personal. At its core, it’s the story of a boy and a girl, but also of a nation. Wish us well as we plunge into the depths of this powerful narrative—we hope to return next year with a moving cinematic journey to share with you in theatres.”
Meanwhile, Imtiaz Ali recently extended his support to Diljit Dosanjh amid the ongoing controversy surrounding his film Sardaar Ji 3, which features Pakistani actress Hania Aamir.
