Ibrahim Ali Khan opens up about struggles, comparisons, and admiration for his father Saif Ali Khan: “I want to be like my father”

Ibrahim Ali Khan shared that he considered his father, Saif Ali Khan, an amazing actor and admired his journey in Bollywood. The young actor, who recently entered the industry, admitted that it had not been an easy start for him. Both his films received mixed to negative reviews, and he also faced constant comparisons with his famous parents.

Ibrahim on Being Compared to Saif Ali Khan

 

In a recent interview with Esquire India, Ibrahim spoke about how often he was compared to his father and how he chose to view it positively. “For years, I’ve been told I look just like my father. ‘Oh my god, you’re just like him, you’re just like him, you’re just like Saif.’ When you’re constantly fed something like that, that becomes a standard for you. You want to be more and more like him,” he said.

 

Ibrahim also spoke about his father’s career path, saying, “I think my dad is an amazing actor. What I really like about him is that there were a lot of people who doubted him in the beginning. It took quite a few films for him to find his feet and become the versatile performer he is now.”

 

Ibrahim’s Bollywood Journey So Far

 

Ibrahim made his acting debut with Nadaaniyan, co-starring Khushi Kapoor. The film, directed by Shauna Gautam, premiered on Netflix in March and featured Mahima Chaudhry, Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza, and Jugal Hansraj. The film, however, received mostly negative reviews.

 

Four months later, Ibrahim appeared in Sarzameen, directed by Kayoze Irani, alongside Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran. This film too faced criticism from both reviewers and social media users.

 

What’s Next for Ibrahim Ali Khan

 

Ibrahim will next be seen in Diler, a sports drama directed by Kunal Deshmukh. The film also stars Sreeleela and reportedly tells the story of a marathon runner. While the release date has not been announced yet, Diler is expected to hit screens in 2026.
