Housefull 5: Akshay Kumar set to commence shoot in December, Sajid Nadiadwala promises biggest comedy of the franchise: Report

Amidst the anticipation surrounding the release of Akshay Kumar's highly awaited film, OMG 2, reports suggest that the actor is gearing up to start shooting for another highly anticipated sequel, Housefull 5 in December. Produced and directed by Sajid Nadiadwala, Housefull 5 is expected to be an even grander and more entertaining instalment in the popular comedy franchise. As a key member of the Housefull series, Akshay's return to the franchise is eagerly awaited by audiences who have enjoyed his comic timing in the previous instalments.

During a recent interview with Pinkvilla, film producer Sajid Nadiadwala disclosed that he has penned the script for the movie and expressed, “It’s a lot of fun to make Housefull films because I write those scripts. Even Housefull 5 is written by me. I enjoy writing those over-the-top scenes. After a long day at work, you like to have something spicy and that for me is the Housefull franchise. But franchises are not easy to manage as you can reach the saturation point at any time,” Sajid further added, “Any franchise can shut down any time. Housefull 4 was shutting down till Sunday because it was a pre-Diwali release. But when Diwali started it became something else.”

 

Reflecting on the buzz surrounding Akshay Kumar's film Housefull 4, he recollected, “It became the biggest film of Akshay Kumar and also the biggest comedy film. I have tried to bring in all elements in the basket for Housefull 5 and I am very excited.”

 

He also added, “We start Housefull 5 in December or January and will be ready for a Diwali 2024 release. Our music sessions begin by November. The script is locked, we have locked our director (Tarun Mansukhani). It’s a huge film and will cross Housefull 4 on the scale front. We plan to surprise everyone with the theme.”

 

As preparations for Housefull 5 are underway, Sajid Nadiadwala is readying himself for his upcoming project Bawaal featuring the dynamic duo Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the highly anticipated film is scheduled to release on Amazon Prime Video on July 21. This romantic drama showcases Varun and Janhvi portraying the roles of a married couple facing challenges as they embark on a honeymoon trip across Europe.
