Himesh Reshammiya to headline IIFA Digital Awards 2027, reunites with Emraan Hashmi through ‘Afsana Banaya Aapne’
Singer-composer Himesh Reshammiya is set to headline the IIFA Digital Awards 2027, returning to the prestigious platform for another musical performance. The 27th edition of IIFA Weekend & Awards will take place at Etihad Arena, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, on January 22 and 23, 2027.
For Reshammiya, the return holds special significance, as his association with IIFA dates back to 2006 when the singer-composer had performed and also received an IIFA Award for the Emraan Hashmi starrer Aashiq Banaya Aapne, making his upcoming appearance a reunion with a platform that has been part of his musical journey for years.
Speaking about his return to the IIFA stage, Himesh Reshammiya said, “Coming back to IIFA feels incredibly special because it takes me back to some very memorable chapters of my journey. My association with IIFA goes back to 2006, when I performed on the IIFA stage, and I also received an IIFA Award for Aashiq Banaya Aapne. That makes this return even more meaningful, as IIFA has been a beautiful part of my musical journey over the years.
“For me, music has always been about that connection, when you step onto a stage, you leave everything behind and simply let the music speak. IIFA has always celebrated that powerful connection between Indian cinema, music and audiences across the world, and being part of that celebration once again is something I am truly looking forward to. This time, I am especially excited to perform some of my timeless chartbusters, along with my latest super-hit song Afsana Banaya Aapne. The song is particularly special because it brings me and Emraan Hashmi back together after 20 years, making it a wonderful full-circle moment for both of us. To return to IIFA and perform these songs for audiences in Abu Dhabi is something I am genuinely excited about,” he added.
He concluded, “I am thrilled to return to the IIFA stage for the IIFA Digital Awards 2027 at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, and create another unforgettable musical moment with everyone. It feels wonderful to come back to a platform that has been a meaningful part of my journey, celebrate the music that has become a part of people’s memories, and once again experience the incredible love of the IIFA family.”
One of the highlights of Reshammiya’s performance will be his latest song, ‘Afsana Banaya Aapne’, which brings him and actor Emraan Hashmi together after two decades. Alongside the track, audiences can expect to hear some of the singer-composer’s popular chartbusters.
With Reshammiya returning to a stage that has played a significant role in his career, the IIFA Digital Awards 2027 will bring together music and Indian entertainment in Abu Dhabi as part of the two-day IIFA Weekend & Awards celebration.
