Farhan Akhtar opens up on playing Pandit Ravi Shankar: “I want to do everything in my power to ensure it comes out right”

Farhan Akhtar has spoken about the responsibility of portraying legendary musician Pandit Ravi Shankar on screen, describing the role as one that requires careful preparation and authenticity. I want to do everything in my power to ensure it comes out right.”

 

The actor’s preparation reportedly includes learning the sitar in order to bring greater realism to the performance. Farhan, who already has a musical background as a guitarist and singer, has begun training on the classical instrument from scratch to better understand the discipline and technical skill associated with Ravi Shankar’s artistry.
