Fan asks Shahid Kapoor if he was disappointed at not receiving awards for Kabir Singh. The actor responds

On Tuesday night, Shahid Kapoor took to Twitter and decided to interact with his fans and asked them to shoot questions at him. Seconds after the tweet, the actor who has 15 million followers on the microblogging site was flooded with questions ranging from his films, to dance to his family.

Shahid Kapoor tried to answer as many questions as possible. The actor sure came across quite a few questions around his film Kabir Singh. Shahid Kapoor was last seen in the film Kabir Singh which was a remake of the Telugu film Arjun Reddy. Kabir Singh was in the centre of controversy with several people calling out the misogynistic nature of the film. However, Shahid Kapoor was also lauded for his performance and the film turned out to be a huge success at the box office.

 

However, Shahid Kapoor was not at the receiving end of film awards for his performance. A fan asked if he was disappointed at not being appreciated with awards. "Do you feel disappointed that your Kabir Singh performance wasn't appreciated by the awards ceremonies because of the controversy surrounding it?,” his question read.

 

Responding to the question, Shahid Kapoor said, "On the contrary. I can’t be thankful enough for the love you all have. I am because of you all."

 

 

Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor will next be seen in the film Jersey which is a remake of the Telugu film of the same name starring Nani. The actor had to stop the shoot of the film midway owing to the coronavirus scare. When a fan asked him to say something about Jersey, he replied, “Just trying our best to make a good film. But I am very happy with whatever we have done so far. Really enjoying the journey and the team.”
