EXCLUSIVE: “Varun Dhawan is an example of what hard work looks like in 2020,”- Rajpal Yadav

Rajpal Yadav has been a part of the film industry for over 20 years now. His impeccable comic timing on screen has us cracking up every time. The actor is currently looking forward to the release of Coolie No. 1 which promises to be a complete family entertainer. The film is a remake of the 1995 film of the same name. Directed by David Dhawan, Rajpal Yadav will be collaborating with Varun Dhawan for the third time. The two have worked before in Main Tera Hero and Judwaa 2, both of which were commercial hits. Talking to Bollywood Hungama, Rajpal Yadav spoke about his relationship with Varun Dhawan.

When asked about the onscreen camaraderie that he shares with Varun Dhawan despite the age difference, the senior actor said, “From 2000 to 2010-12, I worked with the legends of that time. Varun, for me, is the door to creativity to work with the youngsters of this generation.”

 

“It does not seem like there is an age difference between us. Varun once told me that ‘when you work it doesn't seem like you are older than me in age’. To this I told him that ‘I want to work with your child also at this age’. Even at 77, I wish to look like 27. I think I am the luckiest actor who gets love from talented actors like Varun Dhawan. I get the opportunity to act the age of whomsoever I get to act with,” he further said.

 

“We all know Varun and have seen all his antics since the time he was a kid. He loves us all a lot. Even though he has his father David Dhawan’s name, he has earned a name for himself through his own body of work. Varun is an example of what hard work looks like in 2020. He is a new age inspiration for me,” Yadav added.

 

 

Talking about Coolie No. 1, he said, “I think in this time of COVID-19, Coolie No. 1 will bring in a lot of laughter for our country and the world.” The film also stars Sara Ali Khan and Paresh Rawal and will be released on Amazon Prime Video on December 24, 2020.
