EXCLUSIVE: “Bajao explores the kind of life I have witnessed,” reveals Raftaar on his acting debut

Well-known rapper Raftaar is all set to make his acting debut with Jio Studio’s upcoming web series titled Bajao. The show is based on the backdrop of Punjab’s music industry. It’s directed by Shiva Varma and Saptaraj Chakraborty while it’s written by Nikhil Sachan.

Raftaar believes that he couldn’t have asked for a better project to make his acting debut. He said exclusively, “The right mix of acting and music made me said yes to the show. Itna aacha blend hai. Delhi ki baatein hai, music ki baatein hai. Woh life hai jo main dekh chuka hoon. Kaafi aise yaariyan dekh chuka hoon, kaafi aisi dushmaniyaan dekh chuka hoo. Mujhe bahut sahi laga (It has such a nice blend. It’s about Delhi and music. The show explores the kind of life I have witnessed. I have seen the friendships and enmity shown in the show. I found it very good). I really loved the story as well.”

 

With Bajao, Raftaar’s long-awaited wish has come true. “As an artist, I had a bucket list and in that acting was on top and it was pending. So, when something like this came up which was in my zone I just had to say yes,” he added.

 

Sharing more about the show, an official statement from the makers said, “Bajao is a crazy comedy series driven by three boys amidst the pressures of making it and surviving in the punjabi music world pulling a satirical entertainment which is overloaded with mishaps and madness.”

 

Bajao also stars Tanuj Virwani, Sahil Vaid, Sahil Khattar, and Mahira Sharma in pivotal roles. The show is all set to start streaming on JioCinema from August 25 onwards.
