EXCLUSIVE: Ameesha Patel credits Rakesh Roshan for her successful debut with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai alongside Hrithik Roshan: “We became household names”

Ameesha Patel forayed into the industry with the romantic drama Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai alongside another debutante at the time Hrithik Roshan. The film was helmed by Rakesh Roshan, and it went on to become a blockbuster. The movie was a success, the music and the pair were a hit. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, the actress said that it was all because of the vision of Rakesh Roshan.

The actress said, “Hrithik and I were very privileged that we got our success with our first film. We became heartthrobs of the world; we became household names but that has a lot to do with Rakesh Roshan who gave us a really good story, and great music. Without a good director, good music, and good content, an actor can do only so much. First and foremost, I’d like to thank him for giving us the platform to build on. But we never expected it and worked really hard and sincerely.”

 

Ameesha Patel is now gearing up for the release of Gadar 2, a sequel to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Produced by Zee Studios and helmed by director-producer Anil Sharma, the movie also stars Sunny Deol and Utkarsh Sharma. It is slated to release in cinemas on August 11, 2023.
